2018 Ford F-150 Fuel Economy Numbers
2018 Ford F-150 Fuel Economy Numbers
Posted on August 16, 2017
Nobody buys a truck for its fuel economy but if you run a business or drive distances, it is always nice to get a little more value for money. Ford obviously thinks the same as it has increased gas mileage in the 2018 Ford F-150.
Released last week, the fuel economy figures for the 2018 Ford F-150 are not a surprise. Both the 2.7-litre EcoBoost and the 5.0-litre V8 get more to the mile now than before. With the new efficient 3.3-litre V6 replacing the 3.5, this truck will go further for less.
Exact figures are:
2018 Ford F-150 with 2.7-litre EcoBoost
The 2018 Ford F-150 with the 2.7-litre EcoBoost engine will achieve 20/26/22 mpg as RWD. AWD figures are 19/24/21 mpg. The engine delivers 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque and uses the new 10 speed automatic transmission to deliver drive.
2018 Ford F-150 with 3.3-litre V6
The 2018 Ford F-150 with the new 3.3-litre V6 will achieve 19/25/22 mpg as RWD and 18/23/20 mpg in AWD. The new engine produces 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. It will also use the new automatic transmission to deliver drive.
2018 Ford F-150 with 5.0-litre V8
The 2018 Ford F-150 with the 5.0-litre V8 will achieve 17/23/19 mpg in RWD and 16/22/18 mpg with AWD. It delivers 395 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
Improvements to the engines include Stop/Start and that new drivetrain. There are likely smaller mechanical improvements in each motor that drives up fuel economy even slightly.
We are still waiting to find out the stats for the new 3.0-litre diesel V6 engine that is arriving next year in the 2018 Ford F-150. I would expect all figures to be higher than the gasoline equivalent.
2018 Ford F-150
I am looking forward to the arrival of the 2018 Ford F-150. It looks to have all the ingredients required to be a worthy successor to the king of trucks. It looks better, has a fantastic looking interior, continues the massive range of configuration options we have gotten used to and delivers on hauling and towing as it should.
The new transmission may have a lot of gears for a light duty truck but they increase gas mileage and make for a very smooth ride!
